Mykonos is on every travelers list. Sipping some fine wine whilst you look over the Mediterranean Sea. Ain’t that a pretty picture? For some of us (budget travelers) it may take some time before we head to Greece. It may take more time for me given how often I visit Goa. It's only fair to say that my mom has a legit "you're going to Goa face" when I tell her I am going away for the weekend.
This is a story about how I did not want to spend new year moment in the hustle bustle of the Mumbai clubs. Where is the fun dancing so close that even our beer can't breathe. So I decided to drift away to Goa and told my office mates I'll be working from home as the sunsets on 2018. Little did they know I was at my home away form home.
Since I arrived about 5 hours before check-in time, all rooms were occupied and I had to wait till check out time. As anticipated, I decided to have breakfast and coffee at Toro! Toro! River Bar and Grill House, which is situated right at the entrance of the hotel. Shiva, from the cafe was very kind and attentive and made sure I was comfortable since he noticed I was working despite of being in Goa.
It was a decent omelette and great coffee. I noticed they had a good veg & non-veg buffet option available too. The cafe is made of a series of step just like the ones in Greece I guess (haven't been there yet!) and with a comforting view of the River Baga. A walk up the restaurant leads to a section of the rooms and gives you a good view of the property.
I was checked into my room at 12 pm and I was not one bit disappointed.
Room size: Amazing!
Bed: Comfortable! Safe: Checked
View: Vacation Perfect!
Bath Tub: Grand!
Check out the complete video below and tell me it's not perfect!
The hotel staff is attentive and they provide quick room service. You can book your stay via any of the hotel aggregator or directly on their website : http://www.mykonosblu.in/ or write to them at firstname.lastname@example.org you should hopefully get a good deal for booking directly with them.
I was later joined by my travel buddy and we spent the evening at baga beach, eating, drinking and standing right under the midnight fireworks welcoming the new year. Travel is indeed more memorable when it's for two. More than a quarter of the year has already passed as I write this post and here's hoping to an amazing 2019 ahead.
I will be doing more of these hotel reviews on my blog to share some heart felt experiences from all that time away from home and office. Till then, happy being out of office!
